I sing to you tonight

And today i sang you to sleep.
The instances are rare and far apart.
Soon might only be a distant memory,
but today,i did live it again.
As you lay above me in your bunk bed ,with a stuffy nose and sleep teasing you,
I lay below in the same bunk bed talking to you,
Then you ask for a song and i sing
to you tonight.
The soft snores waft towards me, hitting me afresh with nostalgia.
How many more of nights  like these?
where i sing a soft lullaby?
far away and too few.
But for tonight,i feel full,
Full of overwhelming love and all encompassing gratitude.
