10 Things Your Child Might Not Say, but Wants to!

1.I love it when you keep hugging and kissing me. I don’t think I can ever get too much of it! 2.It’s okay to be strict with me. In fact, it’s probably better for me. I may not always like it, but I’m sure I will be glad in the long haul. 3.Don’t give me everything I want. Sometimes I ask just to test you and see how much I can get. 4.I get confused when you keep changing your mind. Please be consistent, especially when you are disciplining me. 5.There are things that scare me which you might not understand. Please try. Don’t tell me I am being silly. 6.Don’t be upset when I say “I hate you”. It’s not you I hate, but your power over me. 7.I love to ask questions. That’s the way I learn. Please don’t make me stop asking you. 8.I know you love me and don’t ever want to see me hurt. But it’s alright to allow me to make my own mistakes and face the consequences. Sometimes it’s the best way for me to learn. 9.Please don’t make promises you know will be difficult to keep. I feel really bad w...

Ok so I was croaking the weirdest lullaby for Yaddie last afternoon while he was getting ready to nap.He suddenly grabbed my phone and started fiddling with it.I let it go this time and continued singing.I then heard a faint "hello" from my phone.I ignored it.I heard it again and I grabbed my phone back from my son only to find that he has dialed my husband's ex boss's phone number. Can you even beat that????I think the last time I felt so 'stupid' was maybe back in school or maybe my first job.But here I was feeling that emotion all over again as I was profusely apologizing to him and laughing and slapping my forehead and glaring at my son all the same time.Thank fully he is one of those people who knows us really well and loves Yaddie too,so his day was made, and I hung up feeling so completely totally IDIOTIC. Has this ever happened to you??

Visit to the sea shore temple

Image
I do agree,I am very impulsive, maybe a lil crazy as my husband insists. It has been raining crazily here at chennai and I needed to go visit Mamallapuram.I just needed to.So we did.Bundled up our lil man and set off on our trustworthy lil Alto car.We love our car.It has so many memories. Most beautiful ones. So coming back to the trip.We reached the place, but the rains never stopped. But what we saw-oh boy!Was it worth it or not!!!The rigorous sea,the lashing waves, the beautiful shore temple standing quietly and watching over the ocean -So so so beautiful! It was raining very hard,i did make some desperate efforts to take some pictures, very very sad they turned out to be. This was Yaddie's first ever trip to Mahabalipuram,it is definitely one of the most beautiful places on earth and am glad we chose a very beautiful day to do so.

The business of being a baby

Image
Wake up feeling terrible about having slept so long.... Smile your way to getting things done. Practice standing Learn dancing Some more standing Spend time with friends Hide behind the sheet Hide under the coffee table Practice falling Pose for mommy Watch some TV Get ready for a nap Then change your mind. Who said being a baby is easy....

You know its not the same anymore....

When.... 1.The first thing you ask your spouse in the morning has taken a terrible beating, from"Hey,did you sleep well" to is "Did he Poop, yet"?? 2.When you have this super urge to photograph your son's poop and and email it to your husband. after all he pooped after striking a good 3 days.I swear I dint do it,but almost did. 3.You and your baby are out for a walk(ahh, the fresh air)after a day full of being a baby(read cranky)your baby relaxes, you relax, and the fresh air does miracles to you both.On your way back from the 20 minute walk, you realize you havent had a bath in 24 hours, you havent brushed your hair in a couple of days and well, your wearing SOME WIERDLY MISMATCHED yellow pyjamas for a pink kurta and it doesnt bother you AT ALL. 4.The word sacrifice, well, they take on a whole new meaning. 5.There is nothing and no one that you can think of before remembering your baby. 6.POOP - this word,RULES! 7.You almost believe yourself to be superhuman. 8.Days bec...

An impromptu...

Image
Am sure you have had those 'off hand' impromptu moments as a mom or dad, when you just had to make something up for your kid.You just HAD to,you really never had a choice. It was on demand and you needed to just make it all up.A poem,a rhyme,a story,a party,a friend,a dish whatever. You fumble and grumble and voila you have it.Icing of the cake, your child loves it!!!!!! It was one of my first ever such moments,Yathaarth was just simply bored of all the rhymes and songs I sing to him,he wanted something new.So I did make up some stupid rhyme and did he love it or what!!!!Whenever I sing this,he is just all merry and smiles. Here is the master piece: Doggie says bow wow Birdie says KOO KOO Doggie and the birdie say 'how do you do' Doggie says bow wow Birdie says KOO KOO Doggie and the birdie say 'Yes,I love you too' My baby loves it,and thats all that matters now.Anything, just anything for this silly smile. So,if you want to play along,i will be really happy to know ...

Some random things about Yathaarth.

Here are some things about my son and I find it funny and queer at times.Nevertheless all these make my son,the prettiest baby ever. 1.Yathaarth HATES pacifiers.Period.I first introduced the pacifier when he was about 2 weeks old.He spat it out.I tried a month later(a different one this time around)-He spat it out.I kept trying on and off - same result.Last month when I was cleaning his storage space,he found the pacifier, played around with it and when he realized it was a pacifier - Well,he SPAT IT OUT! 2.Yathaarth is a people's person. He loves to be around with people(Known faces strangers just anyone). He loves cooing and babbling to them.He loves smiling at people. He just loves people. 3.Yathaarth was always a 'talker'.He started his baby jargon at around 2 months of age.I found this very very scary at times(paranoid me) 4.Yathaarth loves to stretch his arms wide when we take him on walks(when someone is carrying him)he loves to feel the textures of the surfaces his hand...

There are some women, for whom motherhood would be like some 2 parallel hemispheres until they touch and feel their new born!!But to some, the transformation to motherhood is the most natural thing.Flo is one such woman, she is such a natural mother. Her child is one blessed lil baby. I am so happy and excited for the to be parents:)) Welcome to parenthood,Joel and Flo,its a jolly good ride,FROM THE WORD GO I say!:) And when I told Yathaarth that he is going to have a play mate soooon,he was like....... he he,I wished he reacted, well,he was just busy trying to shove my mobile into his mouth...sighhhhh...boys will be boys...
