IMAGINE.

(Photo:Train journey from Erode to Chennai.) My lil dreamer.Whenever I see this picture, cant help but remember this song. Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one

A look back...

A couple of days back I had a short email conversation with a a brand new mommy. She sounded noticeably tired and dazed. She vouched that labor and delivery was 'nothing' in comparison to the handling a tiny baby.So true,no body really warns you about the first two months of bringing up a a tiny baby do they?? The first two months of bringing up Yaddie.....I remember his sweet smell, his first poop and pee,our naps holding each others hand,my body struggling so so hard to recoup,my freaky post natal depression(that thankfully lasted only a month),all those days I cried for nothing to my poor hubby(part of the post natal depression),all the times I sang my baby to sleep,a hundred nights when I wished I could just disappear under the earth and just SLEEP,a thousand and one inconveniences in the whole grand deal of bringing up Yaddie. My days and nights were all one and my needs were barest minimal -sleep and food for self and my baby. I just wanted to fast forward,I couldn't com...

Welcome to mommyhood Flo:)

There are some women, for whom motherhood would be like some 2 parallel hemispheres until they touch and feel their new born!!But to some, the transformation to motherhood is the most natural thing.Flo is one such woman, she is such a natural mother. Her child is one blessed lil baby. I am so happy and excited for the to be parents:)) Welcome to parenthood,Joel and Flo,its a jolly good ride,FROM THE WORD GO I say!:) And when I told Yathaarth that he is going to have a play mate soooon,he was like....... he he,I wished he reacted, well,he was just busy trying to shove my mobile into his mouth...sighhhhh...boys will be boys...

So they did finally MEET!

Image
Yaddie finally met Noah( last weekend ) - this lil joy basket!!! (Photo:From Sandhya's FB album) Sandhya-Noah's mum,and my friend, since school (but we have bonded more than ever only after our babies I must say) and I have super cute dreams of them growing up together and staying best friends for life.We really really really wish that happens. Note to self:I want to kick myself for not taking any pictures of the two munchikins together but was so caught up with 'the meeting'!!! sighhh...consolation?? there are gonna be many many more times like this,so il catch up then,:).

Sick baby = Super worried mommy

Image
(Photo:Sometime last week, with his cold and fatigue and all,my boy still gives mommy his best smile,ALWAYS!!!) Yaddie is just about recovering from his first bout of the common cold!Yes,I said his first ever sickness and it was no fun to watch him!But its over ( well almost) and my sonny has gone back to his 'lifting his butt and trying to crawl phase'!:))

back home:)

Back home after a quick trip to Vivek's hometown for Yathaarth's grandparent's(paternal) 60th wedding. The trip was plesant, and we 3 loved it!!Yathaarth bonded so well with his elder brother Krithik. Yathaarth is a people's person I say!!! He especially loved the journey back home to Chennai in the train.

Yes!!!He said it!!

Image
Yathaarth said Amma and Appa. We first thought he was just attempting to say something, becasue I have been saying those words to him for many weeks now and he had been watching my lips very closely. But no!He looks at me and cries 'MAAA',when he needs me and wants me to pick him up.I am his AMMA,AND HE KNOWS IT NOW. Anddddd, this morning was priceless!!Yathaarth woke up by 6:00 am and we picked him from his cot and put him in between us(our daily morning cudlle routine). He went close to his Daddy and kept tapping those pudgy fingers on his Daddy's cheeks and said 'PAAAAA'...then a few seconds of silence and then 'PAAAAAA'...then he lays his cheek on his dad and then- cuddle time. Oh my God,he says Amma and Appa!!!!!!!Oh my god!!!!!

Bored.

Completely bored and tired.Dont you just wanna scoop him up???:))

Tremendously blessed!

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.~Elizabeth Stone I have read this quote so many times in the last 6 months and each time it made me smile. But today it made me cry. Yathaarth had a fall from the bed, and it all happened before I could blink my eye. I stood there powerless and incapable as I watched his head hit the ground. I had to pull myself together and it was almost like there was this 'someone’ that pushed me to get going. I scooped him and hugged him trying to soothe him. He cried, like never before. Yathaarth hardly cries, he is a content and easy to please baby and to watch him do this, almost killed me. I felt responsible, damn I shouldn’t have let him on the bed, even if it just meant for like half a second!!!I know it happens, their children they are bound to get hurt and bump their heads, blah blah, but goodness, this was my baby, and he hit his head on the floor right in f...

Watch Yathaarth grow!

Sunday,3rd January 2010,not sure of the time these pics were taken, but anyway sometime after 3pm am sure...Brand new baby:)) Month 2...Yeah,thats my handsome lil monkey:)..February was a blur to both the mommy and the son...But was a big month, cuz yep,Yathaarth smiled his first 'social' smile:)) Month 3..Yathaarth knew Mamma really well by now, he loved to play in his play gym and he fell into a sleep routine for the nights..Though his day time naps were short and few! Month 4..Well,he did do his first flip!!

Lullabies

Well,Yathaarth is a big boy now, either soothing cds or mom's singing CANNOT put him to sleep now...But yes, there was a golden period ,where he used to enjoy a bunch of lovely lullabies, any kind of hummings from mamma. There used to be a stage when he slept ONLY after listening to his fave song....The days are long gone they seem already, but the memories are still so young!! This was his 'sleep time' playlist "> Capri - Colbie Caillat "> Bye lo my baby "> No one like you And ofcourse,Goodnight and sleep tight was his favorite song!!!I am not able to find a you tube link, will post it once i do.

Bring on the veggies!!!

ps: dont miss those fat pudgy fingers:))

The power of innocence!

Growth spurts, yeah love them who wouldnt???I mean your child is growing and fast-yayyyy!!!But does it really just end there? What about all the crankiness that comes with the package?? Sighhhh... The last week has been really tough!Yathaarth has been so cranky and frustrated that he is not even enjoying the fact that he can move(creep!!!)now! He keeps groaning and moaning the whole day and let me tell you its not funny! The first few days, killed me to watch my son,do that.He was unhappy and I dint know why and worse i just dint know what to do to make him happy. Then it slowly started getting to me(i mean even mums have that threshold right?),and i lost it this evening!!! He was refusing to sleep,he hadnt even napped well during the day,i was so so SO tired and needed sleep desperately. But he was just refusing to sleep.I simply gave up after maybe 1.5 hrs of trying to put him to sleep.I simply plonked him on the middle of the bed and crashed on my side of the bed.Vivek(who was dead tired ...
